In the remote regions of Tegucigalpa, Honduras it is too economically and geographically challenging for most children to attend school. Yet, that doesn’t stop school from traveling to their doorstep through Asociación Compartir and JustWorld International’s "Education On Wheels” program. Partnered since 2003, JWI brings learning directly to children living in rural villages across Honduras. Education on Wheels provides books, classroom materials, lessons, tutoring, music and cultural arts programs to the most vulnerable populations. Children are also provided with clean water and nutritious snacks. JustWorld also supports community libraries which provide supplemental reading programs and tutoring to thousands of children. For many children, it is the first time they have held a book.
