After a wonderful show in Los Angeles, the second leg of the Masters was held in Paris from the 1st until the 4th of December, and thanks to Longines, JustWorld was able to be a part of this spectacular show for the second consecutive year.
It was, however, the very first time that the Pro Am for Charity class was part of the program in Paris, and so, Saturday evening was dedicated to fun, humor, sport, and most importantly, generosity. During this class, a number of teams comprised of a professional and an amateur participated in order to raise as much money as possible. Longines participated with two teams, one of which supported JustWorld International and proudly was represented by Longines’ Ambassador of Elegance, Jane Richard Philips, and the young French talent Nina Mallevaey.
The theme of the JustWorld team was Asterix and Obelix, a role the girls perfectly personified. A couple of amazing Ambassadors came out to help with the skit, embodying some of the key members of the Asterix and Obelix village. Laura Mathy represented Caesar and Milena Pappas represented the village magician. Capucine and Vanille Bourgeois added some female flair; there was even a mini Asterix, played by the son of European director Isabelle Sepulchre. The cherry on the cake however, was the presence of Pierre Fleury and three of his magnificent highland ponies that added a spectacular element to the skit.
The Longines Grand Prix was held on Sunday, and just like the previous years, the exciting Longines Clear the Jump was held during this class. The concept is easy to understand; every time a rider cleared the Longines Jump, the celebrated Swiss watchmaker donated the equivalent of 200 vital meals to the children at the JustWorld partner projects in Cambodia and Guatemala.
Thanks to the Longines Clear the Jump, Longines has provided more than 65,000 meals this year alone. Jessica Newman, Founder of JustWorld International, explained, “Longines provides concrete help to these children. The support of this Swiss watchmaker is vital.
By providing them with access to education and giving them nutritious meals, we are able to help them get a [better] chance at life. I am honored and proud to count on Longines as one of our most loyal partners.”
