GUATEMALA

Los Patojos
In Guatemala, JustWorld has been partnering with Los Patojos since 2008. Founded by Juan Pablo Romero Fuentes, Los Patojos is a community program that has created community-specific human development projects since 2006 in Jocotenango, Sacatepéquez, Guatemala. The projects focus on teaching alternative education, moral courage, motivation, respect, art, and social justice to 110 children. The project also offers a community kitchen and medical clinic to provide meals to 250 malnourished children and their families, as well as medical services to those who are ill and cannot afford health care...

BRAZIL

Pavel Foundation
In Brazil, JustWorld partners with the Pavel Foundation to fund projects to combat illiteracy and extreme poverty in Barao de Grajau, a remote village in northeastern Brazil.The northeastern region has long been, and still is, the poorest region of Brazil, with the majority of the population living in rural communities. Like many of the countries where JustWorld has project partners, Brazil is a country of inequality and extreme income disparity. SENEGAL

Tostan
Since 2007, JustWorld has been working in Senegal with Tostan in partnership on the Talibe Project, providing access to education for 584 street children in the Senegalese city of Thies.
Senegal is situated on the northwest coast of Africa. Like many African countries, Senegal has suffered through a recent civil war, with a peace treaty ending the war in 2004. CAMBODIA


People’s Improvement Organization

In Cambodia, JustWorld partners with the People’s Improvement Organization (PIO), and its director and 2008 CNN Top 10 Hero, Phymean Noun (to see the video of the awards presentation click here).At PIO, JustWorld funds and supports two schools, Stung Mean Chey at a municipal garbage dump and Borey Keila in an urban slum in Phnom Penh. HONDURAS


In the Central American country of Honduras, JustWorld has several projects of its own, as well as project partners in the capital city of Tegucigalpa. JustWorld first became involved with Honduras when Executive Director, Jessica Newman, went to volunteer after the devastation of Hurricane Mitch in 1998.
