Why Jump for a Just World?
“I see myself helping other people that are in need and making the world a fairer place. Even though my help is small, it’s a start,” said Evelyn, who learned about JustWorld after seeing the logo at many international events.
Some might say Evelyn was born to ride, especially since both her parents are equestrians. From the early age of four, Evelyn exhibited a passion for horses and went on to compete successfully at many top pony shows in Europe. At the age of 13, at the 2003 Gothenburg International Horse Show, she finished second from 240 participants. She ended her pony career in 2005 by placing seventh individually at the European Pony Championships in Pratoni, Italy.
As a part of Sweden’s Junior Team, she helped earn a gold medal at the 2006 Nordic Championships and also claimed the Individual Silver riding Oxsona M, purchased in Holland in 2005 as Evelyn’s first junior horse. In addition to Oxsona M, Evelyn is also enjoying great success with Locando, the approved Holsteiner stallion who gained fame with his former rider, Markus Ehning. Chopin M was purchased in Holland in 2006 while Qruella was bred by her parents.
Evelyn attends a high school for elite athletes, which allows her to focus on riding and training. In her free time, she enjoys being with friends and shopping. She is also an avid collector of Swarovski crystals and displays them on a variety of items including her riding helmets, spurs, ipod and cell phone.
Evelyn is not a newcomer to helping others. For the past several years she has worked alongside her mother, Christina, to organize and host small charity shows at their farm to raise money for the children’s cancer foundation.
