JustWorld International Amateur Rider Ambassador Alexa Lowe comes by her love of show jumping honestly. Her mother, Margaret O'Neill, owns Windsor Farm Sales, a show jumping breeding farm consisting of 70 horses in Upperville, Virginia.
Alexa has made a name for herself in the amateur owner divisions with a variety of horses. Her most successful partner to date has been Caletta 54, a Holsteiner mare that Alexa purchased in Germany as a six-year-old. Together, the pair has advanced to the Grand Prix level. During the winter of 2005, they traveled to Europe in order to compete at shows in Denmark and Germany on the small grand prix tour, coached by Thomas Voss of Germany, who is now based in Virginia.
For the past five years, Alexa has been involved in the operation of her family's breeding farm. She has also volunteered for 'Humane Farm Animal Care', a non-profit organization working towards the humane treatment of farm animals.
Her interests outside of the equestrian world include running, and she is currently training for the Marine Corps marathon. She is also interested in travel and, in the spring of 2006, enjoyed visiting Thailand and Sri Lanka where she helped with tsunami disaster relief.
