Why Jump for a Just World?
JustWorld International is the first volunteer organization that Mia has become a part of. Her family adopted a child from South Africa, which marked her first experience helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Mia Crocetti was born to ride horses – her mother did so when pregnant with Mia! Mia is now enjoying a successful career as a Junior rider, and has been racking up great results at the 1.30m level.
Her first horse is Venere Rossa, a mare who won the Seven-Year-Old National Young Horse Championship in Verona, Italy, in 2001 under Mia’s former trainer, Mariano Ossa. A gift from her mother when she passed her high school exams, Mia describes the mare as having a strong character. In the summer of 2005, she was partnered with Odina, a daughter of the show jumping stallion, Peter Pan. St. Patrick was the former mount of Mia's mother while Allisson is Mia's latest acquisition.
While she lives in the country near Arezzo in Italy, Mia attends high school in Florence. Her mother, Ita Marzotto, is the Director of the Arezzo Equestrian Center, host of several FEI competitions throughout the year.
In addition to riding, Mia enjoys listening to music, reading books, going shopping, and visiting with her friends. She also enjoys travelling, and has twice been to Africa, visiting Namibia and Mozambique. She has also been to Brazil and, three times, to the Caribbean.
