At age 10, Annastelle Lilly Cohen raced into show jumping bristling with enthusiasm, talent, and sparkling pony riding accomplishments. On her first small pony, Blue Crush, she thrice rode to Reserve Champion of the Small Pony Hunters in Saratoga, New York, Wellington, Florida and in Lexington, Kentucky on Blue Crush. Annastelle was the USHJA 2007 Champion in the Small Pony Hunters with Blue Crush.
Annastelle craved more daunting courses. She retired her pony reins in 2007, and moved up to the jumpers and big equitation classes. Annastelle began her jumper transition with Copa Cabana Z, a Holsteiner mare. Her polished riding earned her a fifth ranking out of 51 entries at the Vermont Summer Festival Show in the Low Children/ Adult Jumper Classic and Reserve Champion in 2007.
In the Fall of 2007, when Annastelle was still 10, she won a Maclay Medal Class in her first competition in this Equitation Division at a young age seldom matched. She captured a fifth and third place in the USEF Showjumping Talent Search Classes. Her ambition is to qualify for the Talent Search Finals in 2008. In December 2007, Annastelle added to her awards by winning the North American League Children/Adult Jumper Classic riding Gallant de Saintho, her sister’s Selle Francais.
At the 2008 Winter Equestrian Festival’s Suncast Corporation Opener CSI 2 show she was Resersve Champion in the Children’s Jumpers and garnered a second place in the North American League Children’s Jumper Classic.
