Why Jump for a Just World?
"I am always at horse shows which means that I am always away on the weekends and miss a lot of days of school, so I have never been able to get involved with any types of community service or other school activities," said Boone. "Becoming involved with JustWorld made it very easy for me. I am able to give to JustWorld just by doing what I do, and I am able to help other people at the same time."
Catie Boone has enjoyed great success as a junior competitor. Riding as a member of the USA Zone 2/5 Team at the 2006 North American Junior and Young Riders' Championship, Catie lead the Junior Team to a Gold Medal before going on to claim the Individual Gold Medal for her performance riding Naleida.
In Florida during the 2007 Winter Equestrian Festival, Catie and Naleida won the $2,500 High Junior Jumper on two occasions, during the weeks of the CN Wellington Finale and the Tampa Bay Classic.
Her success continued at the 2007 Devon Horse Show in May. Having won a class in the Junior Jumper division already, Catie topped the jump-off riding Cher 14 to win the $15,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior Jumper Classic. At the conclusion of the show, Catie claimed the Junior Jumper Championship title and was also named the Leading Junior Jumper Rider.
Catie has also enjoyed success in the USEF Talent Search competition and the Maclay Medal classes riding her equitation horse, Holiday.
Catie is a student at Sayre School. She enjoys the support of her parents, Alex and Tricia, as well as her younger sister, Ali, who also competes. A love of horses runs in the family. Alex is a member of the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation as well as a part owner in Kent Farrington's Grand Prix horse, Up Chiqui, while Tricia is a retired equine veterinarian now concentrating on her children and their horses. In addition to riding, Catie enjoys skiing and swimming.
