Titi Mills started riding and competing seriously while attending boarding school at Kent School in Connecticut, and further pursued her passion by graduating from Southern Seminary Jr. College with a certificate in Horsemanship and Animal Science. In 1981, she founded the first equestrian center in her home country of Honduras and, in 1984, founded the Honduras Equestrian Federation. In 1990, Titi won the first international medal for Honduras at the 1990 Central American and Caribbean Games in Mexico riding Zagreb. Her impressive results qualified her for the the1991 Pan American Games but, unfortunately, illness kept Zagreb from competing. Now retired, Titi found Zagreb as a five-year-old in Holland. In addition to being a great jumper, he could also perform a Prix St. Georges dressage test. He was sold to amateur rider, Debbie Pipines, who competed him at the Adult Jumper and High Amateur levels. Living and training in Honduras, Titi again competed at the 1997 Central American Games, this time in both dressage and show jumping. In addition to being an active competitor, she also coached several students. Throughout her career, she has trained a number of young horses for competition in the United States and Central America. In 2003, following the devastation of Hurricane Mitch, Titi moved to Pennsylvania to work for Irish Olympian Kevin Babington. Together, the two trainers offer Kevin’s competitive amateur and junior riders a high standard of training, both at home and at the shows. In 2006, Titi won a bronze medal on Q’s Cheer at the Central American Games in Guatemala as part of the Honduran show jumping team. Q’s Cheer later underwent colic surgery, and after recovering successfully has been showing in 2007 to success at the 1.35m level. Also in 2007, horses and riders under Titi’s training placed ninth and tenth in the East Coast Young Jumper Championship, won championships in junior and children’s hunters, and won numerous ribbons at every level from maiden equitation through amateur jumpers to grand prix. In addition to her equestrian pursuits, Titi remains committed to improving the quality of life in her native Honduras. She is currently involved with Los Micos Beach and Golf Resort in developing an eco-tourism project, including an equestrian center, on the north coast of Honduras.
