Imke Hofschroer comes by her love of show jumping honestly – her father, Ernst, who still rides, was a member of the German Team in Nations’ Cup competitions while her mother, Ans, was also an international show jumping competitor in her own right. Even her brother, Jan, used to jump in the big classes! Imke, who has just concluded her Young Riders’ career, went out with a second place finish in the German Young Riders’ Championships. She currently has three horses, the most successful being Little Mony, a small but sensitive mare that Imke says has a very good mind and always wants to do well. Similarly, she also recently began working with another sensitive mare, Cienaguera, a former World Championship competitor who Imke feels is a really special horse with many good qualities. Currently pursuing her studies as her riding schedule will allow, Imke enjoys shopping if there is ever a weekend when she is not at a show.
