Why Jump for a Just World?
"I have been riding all my life and now it is time to give back," commented Godignon, who is also a member of the Jump for a JustWorld Advisory Board. “I think that JustWorld is a great concept, I fully support the mission of the organization, and I think it is important to educate people and help to change their way of thinking."
Herve Godignon is a legendary member of the international show jumping scene, and the list of horses he has ridden to victory reads like a ‘who’s who’ of the sport. Herve has ridden in countless World Cup Finals and Championship events, and was a member of France’s Bronze Medal Team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
Herve has recently been enjoying the most success with Calypso d’Herbiers, a selle francais stallion that he has been riding for 12 years. Fittingly, the pair won the inaugural ‘Jump Eure’ Grand Prix, held during the first competition mounted at Haras Seabird, which also marked the launch of the ‘Jump for a JustWorld’ initiative in Europe. Located exactly 50 miles from the heart of Paris, Haras Seabird is home to Herve and his wife, Olivia. Interestingly, both of his parents are journalists.
